Strategies for Managing Distress Behaviours in Children (Parent & Educators)

In this information session, we aim to explore effective strategies for managing distress behaviours in children. We intend to cover the following:

  • Define distress behaviours

  • Understanding the function of behaviour 

  • Positive behavior management strategies

    • In-the-moment and

    • Out-the-moment

  • Understand the role of various health professionals. 

This session is aimed at both caregivers and educators. The diversity in the audience can provide an opportunity to better understand the challenges children face in both environments, and how they can be supported.

Light dinner provided from 6:30pm

Refreshments, resources, and friendly support is provided. 

This is strictly a child-free event, to allow for open discussion.
